This position is part of the Sustaining Engineering team at SawStop. This role is responsible for managing SawStop's CAD, PDM, and PLM engineering systems that handle engineering product data and documentation. The position reports to the Sustaining Engineering Manager.


The CAD/PDM/PLM (Engineering Systems) Administrator primarily supports the Engineering team to operate and work within the company CAD, PDM, and PLM systems efficiently and without disruption. The Administrator is responsible for managing these engineering systems that handle company product data and documentation. In addition to extensive CAD knowledge and skill, this role requires an understanding of discrete manufacturing business process, engineering product definition, Bill of Material (BOM), configuration management, and change control systems. Minimal supervision is required, and the Administrator can independently deliver results based on overall guidance.


    • CAD Administration
      • Establish, document, and maintain SolidWorks CAD drafting and modeling standards and best practices
      • Provide SolidWorks CAD support and troubleshooting to CAD users
      • Coordinate major technical issues and version upgrades with CAD service provider
    • PDM Administration
      • Perform SolidWorks PDM Professional administrator duties including:
      • Database folder setup and management
      • ECAD data management
      • Meta-data configuration
      • New user setup and user support
      • Workflow maintenance
      • Identify and implement efficiency improvements
    • PLM Administration
      • Perform SolidWorks Manage PLM administrator duties while supporting all functions within SawStop including:
      • New user setup
      • Workflow maintenance
      • Troubleshooting
      • Engineering change management
      • BOM configuration management
      • Coordinate development and deployment of new processes
    • Engineering Changes
      • Execute on assigned engineering changes within the PDM and PLM systems
      • Support creation of new part numbers, BOM updates, component/assembly meta-data, deviations, and engineering changes and task assignment
      • Other duties as assigned


  • AAS Degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent degree or experience
  • 5 years working with SolidWorks CAD with demonstrated high proficiency
  • 5 years working with SolidWorks PDM (Professional)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Experience operating within a (engineering) change control process
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate while working in a dynamic team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the company
  • Highly motivated and service-oriented attitude


  • Experience with SolidWorks Manage PLM
  • Experience managing a PDM database
  • Experience working in a product development environment
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and performing tolerance stack up analyses
  • Experience performing 3D CAD design simulation, i.e. Finite Element Analysis
  • Experience working with offshore/remote engineering teams
